Greater Accountability
Court Usage

Our veterans and citizens that struggle with mental health and/or drug addiction deserve the opportunity to have an effective sentencing alternative. Ultimately my goal is to reduce the prison population, reduce recidivism, and to return them to the community with gainful employment.

Community Prosecution
Philosophy

Community Prosecution requires: (1) A proactive approach to crime; (2) A defined target area; (3) An emphasis on problem-solving, public safety, and quality of life issues; (4) Partnerships between the prosecutor, the community, law enforcement, and others to address crime and disorder; and (5) Use of varied enforcement methods.

Pre Trial-Diversion
Progra

An alternative to criminal prosecution for certain eligible defendants with a goal of decreasing recidivism through key programming (i.e. anger management, theft courses, or decision and law-making courses), community service, restitution, and/or fines, all while addressing issues related to access to employment, education, and housing.

Greater Focus on
Juvenile Delinquency

Our children are struggling. We need a proactive solution. I will leverage every available resource to deter our children from gang and gun violence. That includes educating children prior to encountering law enforcement, devoting greater resources to children within the Juvenile and Superior Court system, and working with community partners to foster a healthy environment for children to transition to.

Earlier Pretrial
Discovery

Absent any threat to the safety of victims and witnesses, we would aim to have initial discovery disclosed within six months of a prose- cution. That will lead to more efficient pretrial hearings, less contin- uances, and sooner resolution to cases.
